After working with Johnny Semerad's Quiet Man Animation as an Art Director at Saatchi & Saatchi (NYC) I was asked back while freelancing to help design the character for their AT&T Blue Line Guy commercials. Their animator, Dave Shirk (now at Disney's ImageMovers in San Francisco), was able to catch this single line, squiggly guy into a blue, crayon wire frame and animate him. Of course, there were a number of looks that we didn't go with, see here:
